Terms of Service

01 — What IndieRoadmaps is

IndieRoadmaps (indieroadmaps.com) is a community-driven platform where indie makers share public product roadmaps and users vote on and discuss features. It is operated as an independent project, not a registered company. The platform is provided free of charge. There are currently no paid plans or financial transactions on IndieRoadmaps.

02 — Accepting these Terms

By creating an account or using any part of IndieRoadmaps, you confirm that: (1) You are at least 16 years old (the minimum age required under EU law to consent to data processing). (2) You have read and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. (3) If you are using IndieRoadmaps on behalf of an organisation, you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

03 — Your account

Accounts are created via Google OAuth only. By signing in, you authorise us to receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google solely to create and maintain your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must not share your account or allow others to access it. Notify us immediately at hey@indieroadmaps.com if you suspect unauthorised use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice in serious cases.

04 — User-generated content

IndieRoadmaps allows you to submit content including roadmap details, feature descriptions, comments, and votes (“User Content”). You retain ownership of any content you create. By submitting User Content, you grant IndieRoadmaps a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and distribute that content as part of operating the platform. You are solely responsible for your User Content. You must not submit content that: is false, misleading, or impersonates another person or entity; is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or obscene; infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party; contains spam, unsolicited promotions, or malicious code; violates the privacy of any individual. We do not actively monitor all User Content but reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms, at our sole discretion and without notice.

05 — Copyright and DMCA

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on IndieRoadmaps infringes your copyright, please send a notice to hey@indieroadmaps.com with: a description of the copyrighted work; a URL to the infringing material; your contact information; a good-faith statement that the use is not authorised; and a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf. We will investigate valid notices and remove infringing content where appropriate. Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.

06 — Acceptable use

You agree not to use IndieRoadmaps to: scrape or systematically extract data without written permission; attempt unauthorised access to any account, system, or network; interfere with or disrupt the platform or other users' experience; use automated means to create accounts, cast votes, or submit content; engage in any activity that is illegal under Romanian or EU law.

07 — Availability and changes

IndieRoadmaps is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform at any time without notice. We may update these Terms from time to time — the “Last updated” date at the top will reflect this. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users by email.

08 — Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, IndieRoadmaps is provided without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that any content on the platform is accurate, complete, or up to date. Roadmaps and feature plans are submitted by third-party makers and do not constitute commitments or guarantees by IndieRoadmaps.

09 — Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IndieRoadmaps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Romanian or EU law.

10 — Third-party services

IndieRoadmaps uses third-party services including Google (authentication), Supabase (database and storage), Vercel (hosting), and Resend (email notifications). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party services linked from IndieRoadmaps.

11 — Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania and applicable EU regulations. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Romania. EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
